A tenant locust

This past summer, this locust entered our home, where it stayed a few days on an upper floor shelf and around.

We did not let him go as per recommendations found on websites :

Chinese people say :  "When a locust enters your house, do not ever drive it out, he brings 40 days of luck in your house, and wards off evil fairies and wizards"

"The energy of the locust is bright and clear. It is the light of thousands of stars twinkling in the night sky. His energy is vibrant with vivacity, hope and joy. Warm, high-pitched and musical, the locust chirping calms and relaxes you"

We called him Joe, and here is a recording of his energizing "song" :

Sainte Geneviève library in Paris

It opened in 1851 as a public library but is no more open to the public.

Its iron structure was designed to support the storage of 900.000 books, and its glass ceiling to let in maximum light.

Until 1932, a tubes system routed requested books to the hall counter from the storage in upper floors.
